Orange Blossom Basil Fizz

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Gin
  • ¾ oz Orange Blossom Simple Syrup See recipe below
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 leaves Fresh Basil
  • 1 cup Soda Water to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a shaker, muddle the basil leaves with the orange blossom syrup and lemon juice.
  • Add gin and ice. Shake well until chilled.
  • Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with soda water.
  • Garnish with a fresh basil sprig for that extra pop of green and aroma.

Notes

Tip: Run a lemon wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it in a mixture of sugar and crushed dried orange peel before building the drink. The aromatic rim takes this to another level!
Hot Method
Heat the water and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool to 160°F to 180°F/ 70°C to 80°C). Add the orange blossoms. Remove from the heat and pour into a sterile jar to steep like a tea. Taste it after an hour to see if it's at the strength you like. Drain the flowers in a cheesecloth to get rid of all the bits and pieces.
