While the weather in Southern California might not reflect the beginning of fall, we are certainly there. With fall comes the perfect time for apple picking with the entire family. Apple orchards are overflowing with apples that are perfect for taking home and making a pie, plus the kids will love being involved in gathering apples.
These are a few of our favorite Southern California apple picking farms that the entire family will have a fantastic time visiting together.

Parrish Pioneer Ranch
- Address: 38561 Oak Glen Rd, Oak Glen, CA 92399
You can head to Parrish Pioneer Ranch between September and November for apple picking. They offer locally grown organic apples that are perfect for bringing home. Besides apple picking, you can enjoy their apple cider and grab a few jars of apple butter for some extra treats at home. The ranch is open Friday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Riley’s Los Rios Rancho
- Address: 39611 Oak Glen Rd, Yucaipa, CA 92399
Riley’s Los Rios Rancho has all the fall fun your family can hope for. Of course, there is apple picking, but you can also enjoy wagon rides, caramel apples, and a picnic on the farm. They’re open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 6 pm.
Snow-Line Orchards
- Address: 39400 Oak Glen Rd, Yucaipa, CA 92399
An orchard and winery mixed together? Sign us up! Snow-Line Orchards offers u-pick apples for all to enjoy, but adults can also sample wine. Little ones will love the fresh apple cider; everyone can dive into fresh apple cider doughnuts. The orchard is open Monday through Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm.
Riley’s Apple Farm
- Address: 12261 Oak Glen Rd, Yucaipa, CA 92399
This is a different Riley’s Apple Farm than mentioned above, but it still has all the fun. Enjoy apple picking, cider pressing, archery, and tomahawk throwing with the family.
Their seasons begin Labor Day weekend, and they’re open Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. You can also make appointments for special weekday pickings.

Old Peacefield Orchard
- Address: 3803 Wynola Rd, Julian, CA 92036
Old Peacefield Orchard has one of the oldest apple trees in Julian, which was planted in the 1800s. Today it is still producing crisp and delicious apples, and families will be happy to know they don’t use any pesticides or chemicals on their apples. Their season ends earlier than other orchards, so head to their website to check if you can still pick.
Willowbrook Apple Farm
- Address: 12099 Oak Glen Rd, Oak Glen, CA 92399
Your family will have a fantastic time at Willbrook Apple Farm. Besides u-pick apples, the family can make their own apple cider at the u-cider press. Kids can ride tractors on the farm, pet the farm animals, and everyone can get great photos along the way. Their season begins on October 1st, and you can head to their website for updates and hours.
