Twist Trips

Are You Ready to Travel with Us this Year?

If you’ve picked this year as your year of adventure, then there is not better time to hop on a Twist Trip, hosted by the editorial team at Twist Travel Magazine. We are women and moms who love to travel with our friends, as well as our kids. Sometimes we need a little mom rejuvenation in Mexico with our girls, while other times we want to take our kids hiking across a glacier with other parents, aunts, uncles, friends and kids.

Either way, we want to do it with that Twist style, finding cute and comfy hotels and guest houses, unique adventures that are great for everyone on the tour, and of course, unbelievable food. We are bringing you to the popular places as well as taking you off the beaten path to destinations where only the locals go. It’s a little bit of everything you want in a trip, but you don’t have to plan it!

UPCOMING TRIPS

Hacienda Petac 26 1
MEXICO: November 2021
Iceland Volcanos 1

ABOUT YOUR TWIST TRIP HOSTS

You are in for a treat! Our Twist editorial team comes together on trips, sometimes all of us, sometimes just one or two of us, for Twist Trips. Why? Because we love to travel together and want to travel with you and get to know our readers better.

If you have ever wanted to travel with ALL of us, or just one of us (but meet the other two of course because we only keep good company), now is your chance! Get to know us a little more and why you will be laughing hysterically, sharing more than you would have guessed and walking away from a Twist Trip refreshed, invigorated and ready for the one.

Keryn Means • Editor-In-Chief

Keryn is a passionate traveler who first visited Iceland with her family right before her youngest turned 2 years old (free to fly!) in search of the Northern Lights. While they didn’t catch those dancing lights in the sky, she did get a taste for this magical land that would call her back again in August 2019 to explore the WestFjords. It was here that she did see the Aurora Borealis, which was pretty mind blowing, but even better, she solidified two friendship with her fellow travelers… and decided she wanted to include more people in this magical adventure she had set out on. Through food, time in the car, cozy guesthouses, and maybe a bit of the local gin (ask Keryn about the best gin in Iceland when you see her. She is sure to have a bottle or two for you to taste.), she knows you will fall in love with this often misunderstood island nation that has so much more than pretty waterfalls.

Katja Gaskell • European Editor

Having spent nearly six years living in Mexico City, Mexico is like a second home to Katja. During her time living here she travelled extensively, making sure to find the best tacos and tequila in every location. Hacienda Petac is one of her favourite places in Mexico and she can’t wait to go back!

Claudia Laroye • Contributing Editor

Claudia Laroye is a curious and adventurous traveler based in Vancouver, Canada. While living in Sweden as an exchange student during the late 1980s, she came THIS CLOSE to visiting Iceland during her year abroad. As such, she’s extra excited to finally be exploring Iceland for the first time on this trip, along with other ladies who may also be first timers. She’s also keen to continue her gin exploration around the world, as Keryn has convinced her that – along with the amazing landscape – Icelandic gin is worth traveling for.
